Teacher/Child Ratio
Our staffing is scheduled to meet state regulations for Teacher to Child ratios.
Toddler classes:
1 Teacher for 1-4 students
2 Teachers for 5 – 9 students
Preschool classes:
1 Teacher for 1 – 10 students
2 Teachers for 11 – 18 students
*** At least one teacher in each classroom has
a BA degree.
There is a fine balance, we have determined, between too large a class for proper individual attention and too small a class for important socialization with other children. We may, at times, add a teacher to the classroom but we will never omit a necessary teacher.
Goals
Goals for each child to recognize and celebrate his/her individuality include:
- To learn sharing, cooperation, and problem solving skills.
- To learn respect for everyone’s special needs, and to accept and show kindness for all kinds of people, using the Golden Rule: treat others as we would want to be treated.
- To develop socially, intellectually, physical, emotionally and spiritually.
- To learn and use sound health, safety and nutrition practices. We recommend packing healthy mid-morning and
midafternoon snacks.
- To have fun, to be able to play and to make joyful noises!
Working Together
A child benefits most when the teachers and the parents work together as a team. Communication is essential. Parents receive monthly newsletters and semi-annual progress reports. Teachers are always available to discuss your child’s learning and behavior with you.
